Women help women in Sierra Leone

“We go out to the ghettoes and the bars and talk to them. I say, ‘This was my life. I was a prostitute. Please come and join the association, it will help you to do something with your life.'”

Adamambah Menumatu, evangelist and taxi driver, has been helping to change Sierra Leonean women’s lives for the past two years. When she joined the Sierra Leone Citizens Rights Association’s (SLCRA) she was on the street, on drugs and without work. She is now its deputy chairwoman and a recent graduate of its driving school that aims to give women a vocation as well as teach them about their rights. . .
